You’re an Over 40 stud and would like to play, now what? BASL does not place players on a team, so you can not pay first and have the league assign you to a team. You have to network your way into the league and win a spot on a roster. It is not that hard, there is plenty of room.
- Click on the team listings, click on the Captains contact link, and send an email about yourself with info about skill and fitness and prior experience.
- Click on the team listings, look at the players on the roster, possibly you will spot the name of a friend.
- Click on the BASL Bulletin Board and post information about yourself there.
- Stop by the fields and chat the guys up, ask who is looking for players.
- By mid-to-late season there are often injuries, you can also join later on.
- Play in local pickup games [or start one yourself] Guys in the BASL are bound to be out there and you’ll be able to showcase your skills.
- If you know 4-5 other guys who want to play you already have the core for a team. Enter the new team in the league with you as captain, you’ll be able to pick up the 4-5 more players you need quickly.
